Flamed

Flamed

Produced by exposing the stone to high temperatures, this finish is flat enough for flooring, though there may be irregularities and some amount of flaking on its layer-like surface. The flamed finish makes surfaces slip resistant, while at the same time dulling the original colour of the stone and creating unique reliefs on the surface.

Split-face

Split-face

With its irregular surface, this finish is not suitable for flooring, but rather for cladding that needs to be beautiful and durable. To be used for this purpose, a thickness of at least 5 cm is required, since part of it will be broken with the proper tools until it is about 3 cm thick.

Brushed

Brushed

Although this slip-resistant finish is not smooth to the touch, it is well suited for flat flooring. With a fairly rough surface, though considerably smoother than a sandblasted finish, this rustic finish is very popular among designers around the world. This surface allows the original colour of the stone to be seen, while at the same time making it slip-resistant.

Bush-hammered

Bush-hammered

A bush-hammered finish is slip-resistant and best suited for paving and outdoor cladding. With its rough surface, is it quite flat and extensively used for paving.

Sandblast

Sandblast

A sandblast finish is slip-resistant, fairly rough, and flat enough to be used on flooring. Relatively speaking, this finish is not as rough as the bush-hammered, and more irregular to the touch than a brushed finish. Similarly, it shows the original colour of the stone more than a bush-hammered finish, though less than a brushed finish.
